Hi! I’m Sarah Ribbans, founder of Pilates with Sarah, and a qualified Level 3 Mat Pilates Instructor and a qualified Level 2 Personal Trainer.
I am a keen equestrian and I started my Pilates journey following a fall from a horse that broke my back and damaged my hip. With any type of back injury (following doctor and physio sign off) it is so important to strengthen your core and become aware of your body to reduce the pressures that we put on our spine daily, especially since as a nation we have become less active over the years.
Looking after our bodies means that we can continue to live an active and enjoyable life as we get older. As you would expect, I have become an expert in post injury rehabilitation Pilates classes!
My background is as an entrepreneur and HR Director, so I also understand the demands on busy Execs that lead to burnout and aches and pains from so much time sat at a desk and travelling. I am keen to promote the benefits of Pilates to my colleagues in those types of roles, as we so often put looking after ourselves on the back burner, to our own long-term detriment.
I believe that Pilates is for everybody because anyone can do it regardless of age or injury (and I keep my classes small to allow me to support individuals who need the extra help) and everyone sees the benefits.
